ABOUT ME

Hello!

I’m Gaston Dal Molin, (but everyone calls me CJ), Sound Technician. Audio is my passion in all its forms and applications. Throughout my career, I have had the opportunity to work in different fields of sound, both for live musicians and in studios and for films as a sound designer or re-recording mixer.

Here are some things you should know about me:

I started in music at age 15, playing bass in a band that never had a name, or even did a show! As the years went by, not only did I play in other bands in different genres, but also, being a very curious person, I began to learn about backline, recording, mixing, and learning different instruments, such as drums, guitar, and even singing. I started composing my own songs and all led to release my first EP made entirely (even the videos) by myself.

At that moment I realized that my thing was no longer just playing music, but creating and helping others transfer their ideas into the air.

I discovered that staying true to the essence of the moment of inspiration is key to being able to materialize ideas. Being faithful to the idea, to the sound and, above all, faithful to the vision behind the project and its author, plus the necessary technical knowledge, are essential to be able to materialize anything that arises from the deepest part of us.

My approach is based on three pillars:

• Communication: In order to achieve the best result, ideas have to be expressed and heard in the best possible way.
• Trial and error: Nothing is learned from success so trying again is always an option.
• Let it go: As artists, we never consider something truly finished, but letting go “perfection” will help us learn from our mistakes and move on to the next project to make it better than the previous one.
